Sports Hall Repairs and Updating Social Assistance Data are Priorities in Regional Budget 2027

Commission E of the Jakarta Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) together with the Social Services Agency and the Youth and Sports Agency (Dispora) discussed the Draft General Policy of the Regional Budget and Temporary Budget Ceiling Priorities (KUA-PPAS) for the 2027 Fiscal Year.

Carried out in stages

In the discussion, Commission E emphasized that the budget should be focused on programs that provide direct benefits to the community.

Budget of Kapuk Urban Village Expansion Requested to Be Prioritized

Chairman of Commission E, M. Subki said budget preparation must prioritize efficiency by reducing ceremonial activities and diverting them to programs that are more needed by the community.

"Ceremonial matters should be diverted to programs that are more needed by the community," he said, Wednesday (7/29).

Subki also welcomed the plan to reallocate funds for the affordable food program in the Revised Regional Budget. He stated that the additional funding would expand access to food for social assistance recipients.

In the social welfare sector, he requested that the Social Services Agency expedite updating of aid recipient data to ensure greater accuracy. Therefore, the agency was encouraged to strengthen coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure the validity of aid recipient data.

Meanwhile, in the sports sector, Commission E requested that the Youth and Sports Agency prioritize inspections and repairs to sports buildings (GOR) that are in poor condition. This step is deemed crucial to prevent damage that could potentially endanger the public.

The revitalization budget this year has only been allocated for the Jagakarsa Sports Hall, while other Sports Halls have not yet received funding allocations.

"Because the needs are still great while the budget is limited, we hope that next year the allocation of funds can be increased so that the repairs to the sport halls can be carried out in stages," he hoped.
